Don Calò is our small business, a family business, with the aim of bringing our Sicily on the table, the motherland of countless agri-food excellence, to which we are deeply attached.

The name "Don Calò" is that of our great-grandfather Calogero, who loved Sicily with great passion. Today, with the same passion, with history, with the flavors and with the colors that our land offers us, we want to take you into our entirely Sicilian world.

 

We have created a small craft workshop, located in San Teodoro (in the province of Messina), a little country in the heart of  Nebrodi.It was built in the respect of Community Regulations and it is equipped with the latest generation machinery, which allows us to garantee health safety and,at the same time,to maintain the organoleptic characteristics of our products unaltered.

Production Philosophy

Each Don Calò product is a riot of flavors, designed to delight the palate of every consumer. Our range of products varies from jams with 70% fruit, to pestos and spreads.

We produce in an artisanal and innovative way, but attentive to the link with our territory,  our traditions ,respecting the environment.

 

Our choice is to make all our products with manual procedures and without "help" of thickeners, such as pectin or other unnatural additives, but simply using the fruits that our land offers us, such as apples rich in natural pectin.

In all  productions,a low amount of sugar is used, just what is needed for our preservation.  They are gluten-free, without dyes and without food preservatives.

 

For us the fruit that nature and the earth offer at the moment is fundamental, in fact the products are made exclusively with seasonal raw materials.

We have selected  producers who respect the ripening times and harvesting traditions, thanks to this the fruits are able to have persistent aromas and flavors, characteristics that you will find in our productions.
